AA and KTMU Signed Protocol of Cooperation


    A protocol of cooperation was signed between Anadolu Agency (AA) and Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) on 18 May 2016.


    The Deputy Director General of AA, Mr. Mustafa Özkaya, who came to the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, to participate in the 8th Connection to the Future Seminar, organized by the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council from 20 to 24 May 2016,met with the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balcı.


    After the meeting the protocol, signed by AA and KTMU, opened opportunities for students to participate in the educational programs conducted by AA, enabled AA to use the equipment and facilities of KTMU, provided a possibility of undertaking an internship at AA. The protocol was signed by the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balcı, the Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Asylbek Kulmyrzaev and the Deputy Director General of AA, Mr. Mustafa Özkaya.


   At the signing ceremony the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Balcı, said the agreement between two organizations would open the door to the world for KTMU and AA.


   “With great pleasure we signed this agreement. I wish every success to the two institutions. It will be a great honor for us to build cooperation in all sectors. On this occasion we express gratitude to the Director General of AA, Mr. Şenol Kazancı, for giving us this opportunity,”Balcı said.


   Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Asylbek Kulmırzaev also noted that AA is the largest press agency of the Turkic World. Kulmyrzaev highlighted that the agreement between AA and Manas University would offer great opportunities for students.


   Deputy Director General of AA Mr. Özkaya stated that Anadolu Agency has begun such cooperation only with a small number of universities. “AA’s choice for KTMU is of great importance to us. It is very important that this remarkable institution in the very heart of Asia, that offers the best quality education in the global context, has the potential to drive the dynamics of its region. We attach great importance to the fact that we are here when Anadolu Agency, one of the growing organizations of developing Turkey, is on the way to becoming a global agency. May the cooperation between two institutions lead to success. I hope that our cooperation will further develop,”Özkaya said.


  The ceremony was also attended by the Financial Director of AA, Associate Prof. Dr. Seyfi Yıldız.




20 Jun Requirements for foreign applicants and admission conditions to the Kyrgyz-Turkish University Manas.


For registration to the admission committee the following documents should be submitted:

• Copy of the certificate / diploma of secondary education; with indication of studied subjects and the resulting grades (notarized translation into Russian or English).

• A copy of the passport;

• Petition written to the Rector;

• 2 photos of size 3x4 made in the last 3 months;

The average score of the entrant should not be lower than 3.5 on a 5 point system, not lower than 70 on a 100 point system.

Foreign citizens of visa-free countries can send copies of documents by mail or arrive in Bishkek and submit copies of documents.

Foreign citizens of visa countries send copies of documents by e-mail (iro@manas.edu.kg). Documents must be sent to the university by e-mail with a note "Application for study".

The documents are accepted on any working day from 8.30 to 17.30 (12.00-13.00 lunch) until the beginning of August 2018.

The Third General Assembly of the Turkic Universities Union (Union) was hosted by the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU), the current Chairman-in-Office of the Union, on 19 April 2018 in Bishkek. 


Representatives from 14 member universities of the Union from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, delegates of the Student Council and officials of the Turkic Council Secretariat attended the Assembly. 


The Rector of the KTMU Prof. Sebahattin Balcı and Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman moderated the discussions on the topics such as logo and website of the Union, the implementation of the Orkhun Exchange Program, criteria for the Union award and the Activity Report of the Union prepared by the Chairman-in-Office. 


In the course of the meeting, the parties agreed to consider the prospective cooperation with other universities in the scope of the international collaboration of the Union. The sides suggested that such partnerships would enhance the capacity of the Orkhun Exchange Program. 


Among the other important decisions taken at the meeting was the inclusion of the Department of Turkology to the pilot project of the Orkhun Exchange Program that started last year for the undergraduate students and academicians of Department of International Relations, Department of Political Science, Department of International Relations and Political Science.


The Activity Report included projects designed and carried out with the coordination of the KTMU during its chairmanship. It encompasses prominent endeavors such as the First Turkic Universities Union Sport Games, Tourism Guide of the Turkic World, the document briefing the relations among the member states over the last 25 years and the paper on the common citizenship education among the Turkic peoples. 


In the course of the meeting, the Student Council reported on its activities as well. 


The parties also reviewed the prospective actions of the Union in the upcoming period. Among other things, the central theme of the discussion was the transition of the chairmanship to the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi University of Kazakhstan. 


The parties also unanimously consented to organize an international symposium dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birthday of renowned Turkic writer Chinghiz Aitmatov. 


Towards the end of the session, the participants listened to the presentations of the candidate universities to the Union membership, after which the member universities decided on the selection of the applicants by using objective criteria and by means of vote. 


Thus, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University of Kazakhstan and Osh State University of Kyrgyzstan joined the Union and became its new members.
