03 May 2021 Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan visited Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kyrgyz Republic.


Rector of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan visited Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan.

Alpaslan Ceylan during his visit to the Embassy on May 3, 2021 stated that Turkey and Pakistan are two brother and friendly countries, and that KTMU would like to cooperate with universities in Pakistan in the fields of education and science. Ambassador Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan stated that they are open to cooperation in the field of education and science, students and faculty members can be exchanged, and they will be pleased that students from Pakistan will come to the Faculty of Medicine which planned to open in KTMU.

The ambassador congratulated Prof. Dr. Ceylan on the opening of the Şehit Eren Bülbül Health Center and expressed that he was very pleased with the opportunities and hospitality he saw during his visit to the university.


05 May 2021 Visit to newly appointed Ambassador of Turkey to Kyrgyz Republic

On May 6, 2021, during a meeting with the Ambassador, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said that Hungary is the most important country in Central Europe in terms of relations between Turkey and Central Asia.

Brotherhood relations based on a common history

Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said that the relations between the Turks and the Hungarians are the result of a brotherhood starting with the Scythian and Cimmerian Turks and continuing with the Hun Turks. He also added: "We do not put the Hungarian people in a different place than the Turkish Nation. They are our true brothers."

Hungary's special position in relations

Prof.Dr. Ceylan noted that the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, holds Hungary in a special position, also stated that the relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary reached a very high level after President Erdogan's visit to Kyrgyzstan in 2018.

An important cultural activity: Turan Congress

Underlining that KTMU will fulfill its duty within this framework, Ceylan also expressed his opinion that the Turan Congress held in Hungary was a very important cultural activity.

The lack of Hungarian students at KTMU

Rector Alpaslan Ceylan called the lack of Hungarian students at KTMU a disadvantage and expressed the hope that this disadvantage will be overcome with the help of the Ambassador Dorogi. He also said that he would invite Hungarian athletes and academics to the opening of the university's traditional sports games complex.

Co-Rector Prof.Dr. Asılbek Kulmırzayev in his speech emphasized the importance of providing quality education to young people, and stated that raising students in accordance with the requirements of the time is one of the main objectives of KTMU, and that Hungarian students can come to KTMU to improve themselves in every sense and contribute to the cultural richness of the University.

Ambassador Shandor Dorogi said that he was very impressed with the possibilities of the university and that he will make every effort to ensure that Hungarian students start studying here and can take advantage of these opportunities. Manas University among Top 400 Universities in QS

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) ranked 183th among the top 400 universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking. KTMU is in second place in Kyrgyzstan.

Comparatively, Manas University was ranked on 190th in 2019. This year KTMU is 15th in the Central Asia ranking. There are 27 universities from Kazakhstan, 2 from Kyrgyzstan, 4 from Uzbekistan and 1 from Tajikistan.

121 of the top 400 universities in the ranking are from Russia and 55 are from Turkey.

The ranking is prepared by evaluating universities from 29 countries according to various criteria. These criteria’s include the academic reputation index of the university, the reputation index among employers, the number of employees with a doctorate, the ratio of the citation index of scientific publications to the number of academicians, and the website usage index.

QS is known as one of the most popular university rankings in the world.
