Our University participated in the Second International Cooks’ Meeting


   The Second International Cooks’ Meeting was hosted by Cooking School Graduates Association from April 24 -30, 2016 in Mengen, Bolu Province. 


  Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University was the only international educational institution among 42 universities that took part in the Cooks’ Meeting.


  The Camp was attended by the Head of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department of Tourism and Hotel Management High School, Senior Lecturer Sapargul Turdubekova, as well as students of the department, Akylay Ashyrbekova and Nursultan Sydykov.


   The Director of Tourism and Hotel Management High School, Associate Prof. Dr. Barış Erdem, said that these activities, organized to develop culinary in Turkey and raise Turkish cuisine at the international level, would continue and be hosted by KTMU next year, and the preparations for the event had started.


   It is expected that the organization of the meeting will unite students, academicians and chefs studying in programs of the universities in Turkey, such as Culinary, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Culinary Arts and Management; improve their professional skills, as well as positively influence the knowledge of Turkish cuisine.


   Academicians and students obtaining culinary education learned cooking secrets at the 10-day meeting, attended by a number of chefs working in different regions of Turkey and 500 people. About 80 chefs took part in the Cooks’ Meeting and shared their love for the work and its advantages with the participants. This event was very useful for Turkey’s future chefs. The meeting provided opportunities for participants to learn to make dishes of national and modern cuisine.


   Various interesting activities were organized at the meeting held at Mengen Campus of Abant Izzet Baysal University. On the final day of the meeting dinner was held, during which the participants from 42 universities were given certificates. Music played with chefs utensils, such as strainers or pans, pleased the guests during the dinner.


   Mengen, a town in Bolu Province where Abant Izzet Baysal University is situated, is famous for its well-known cooks. Cooking School graduates composing АSOMDER pass on culinary service to the next generation. The International Cooks’ Meeting, organized for the second time this year, is also a clear demonstration of that.
