Libraries and Learning Center

The technical basis of the central library of KTMU, which has all conditions conducive to study and reading, meets all the modern requirements of society. Working since 1998, the library serves the needs of not only students, but also scientists and researchers who work in various fields of education, professional training, scientific research and general culture. The library holdings consisting of 88, 800 books, periodicals and audiovisual information sources that were both donated and purchased are constantly being enriched. The electronic catalogue of the library has been serving readers since November 1, 2005. The searching process used in this catalogue is carried out by means of the Internet at the following address: http://yordam.manas.edu.kg/. In 2014, a total of 38,816 searches were conducted in the electronic catalogue. The web page of the library (http://library.manas.edu.kg) is updated daily.

 

Electronic Database

Annually KTMU provides subscriptions of students and scholars to the world famous electronic databases, which helps in conducting research. Students and scholars are provided with unlimited and free Internet access throughout the day; this allows students to have access to articles and books stored on the electronic database. In 2015, the university signed on 32 electronic databases. One of these databases is “World E-Book Library" which has about 3 million books, “Hiper Kitap” which has 12,000 books, “Taylor and Francis Journals Online” which has 17,000 scientific journals in all fields of knowledge.

Central Library 

Central Library opened on September in 2013, which support teaching and research for various departments, faculties and their graduate divisions in addition to other administrative/ research/services units. The Central Library has about 26,600 books and 119 seats. There are 30 computers with internet access for students, a computer kiosk with a search terminal located in the study hall and periodicals and newspapers.

 

Salizhan Zhigitov Learning Center

On December 14, 2005 the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University opened a reading room named after Saliuzhan Zhigitov in the building housing the Faculty of Economics and Management. The study room has about 5,500 books and 92 seats. There are periodicals and newspapers, a computer with Internet access and a computer kiosk with a search terminal located in the reading room.

 

 

Chyngyz Aitmatov Leraning Center 

On May 24, 2012 a reading room named after Chyngyz Aitmatov was opened on the campus of the University. The reading room has 15,000 books and 116 seats. In addition, there are 30 computers with internet access for students and a computer kiosk with a search terminal located in the reading room. In addition, the reading room named after Chyngyz Aitmatov houses a permanent exhibition of works by the great writer.

Prep Courses Library

Our old Library in the Central Building opened in 1998. There are cataloging and classification service, archive periodicals and textbooks, 15 computers with internet access for students and a computer kiosk with a search terminal located in the reading room. The reading room has 16,500 books for students Foreign Languages Higher School, Tourism and Hospitality Management Higher School, 23,000 textbooks and 116 seats.

 

Learning Center of the Center for Applied Scientific Research of Turkic Civilization

The reading room of the Center for Applied Scientific Research of Turkic civilization is located in the Chyngyz Aitmatov campus of the University; it was opened on March 25, 2013. In the reading room there are about 2,200 books.
